Opteka RC 2 Control Cameras Replacement

I was very skeptical to order an off-brand Pentax item as well as from a unknown seller at the time. Due to the previous two reviews I took a chance and at worst case, I was out $10 or could get Amazon to give me credit.
Everything turned out great. It shipped the next day and I got in the mail pretty quick. It came in a a small box with a cleaning cloth, instructions, and a little pouch to put the remote. Remote was of better quality then I expected for the price. Put the included battery in, turned my Pentax K-x to wireless shooting mode, and worked perfectly. I used it last night for some astrophotography. Zero complaints, and I saved $10+ not having to buy the Pentax brand for what is essentially a button with set infrared signal for Pentax cameras. Also the remote has a w/t button for controlling zoom but says it only works on no SLR camera's.

Seidio CSWIPH5 BK OBEX Waterproof iPhone

I researched a lot into waterproof/dustproof cases. I owned a Lifeproof and the sound quality was horrible. The otterbox is just too big and bulky and hurts my ear. Speaker sound is very minimally affected so I can actually listen to music with my phone. I work in a loud production environment and I am able to hear people on the other end of the call as well, which is a big improvement from the Lifeproof. I have also dropped it many times and it has protected my phone very well. It is extremely thin, almost the same profile as a non waterproof case. Also the screen sensitivity is pretty good, only maybe really close to the side wall is there a little interference. Every once in a while I get a rainbow effect in a very sunny spot. I also have problems with plugging in portable speakers, there isn't room for the plugin, however, regular headphones are fine. However, overall I am extremely happy with this case.

awesome camera

gps review Canon Digital 18 135mm 55 250mm Accessory

Canon Digital 18 135mm 55 250mm Accessory

I won't spend much time on the camera review because there are enough Canon T4i reviews on Amazon by people much more capable than I at utilizing all the camera's features. This review will primarily focus on Cameta Camera and the bundled package.

First, the camera. I can't add much to what has already been said in hundreds of reviews but so far, I'm thrilled with the camera. Coming from a point and shoot, I expected a huge upgrade in resolution and capabilities and I wasn't disappointed. The T4i takes ultra clear photos and is surprisingly easy to use. I was concerned about the learning curve but the owners manual does an extremely good job of explaining the camera's features and which features to use for whatever photo situation you encounter. If you're considering a Canon T4i "how-to" book, I recommend at least reading the Canon owner's manual first to see if you even need anything else. Not to mention the fact that the camera is very intuitive and explains each shooting function as you rotate the mode dial. Also, I actually expected the touch-screen capability to be an added bonus rather than a frequently used feature, but after using the camera, I find myself going to the touch screen more than I expected. The touch screen is very responsive, easily matching any smart phone, and provides a bit more ease of use than a non-touch screen SLR. I've seen some reviews saying that the T4i is not a significant upgrade over the T3i and I can't argue that since I have no T3i experience. However, I will say that just the touch screen alone seems to be worth the extra cost. At some point, I suspect all SLR's will have this feature anyway.

Lens: After reading dozens of reviews about which bundle to choose, I went with the 18-135 lens bundle vs. the 18-55 package. The 18-135mm lens is a newer model Canon lens designed with video recording in mind. It's an STM lens which stands for "stepping motor". This improves on USM (Ultrasonic motor) lens technology by making the lens quieter and more responsive. This is extremely handy when recording video so you don't have lens focusing noise in the audio. Another benefit is that it's an excellent all-purpose lens. This bundle also comes with a 55-250mm IS lens but I haven't used it yet because the 18-135 does pretty much everything I need. I purposely bought this package with the expectation that I will eventually use the telephoto lens but so far, the 18-135 lens is my go-to. However, I should add that the additional 55-250 lens is an Image Stablized mid-level, high quality lens so you should feel comfortable choosing this package. I would say that the only downside to the 18-135mm lens is the significant weight difference over the 18-55. You'll definitely feel it if you use it for extended periods.

Bundle: To be honest, I probably won't use all the additional stuff this camera came with. But at this price, I paid less for the camera and two lenses and all the other stuff than some places were charging just for the camera body and 18-135 lens. So you should look at it from the perspective that you are getting a camera body and two lenses for a great deal, and all the other bundled stuff is free. Anyway, the camera bag is probably the best part of the accessories. There's plenty of pockets, the nylon bag seems tough, and it holds everything in this particular bundle except the tripod (possible pro OR con to the bag depending on your needs - it's pretty big). So now the tripod - I already had one so probably won't use this one much but for being basically free, it's okay. Comes with a nice carrying case and looks semi-professional, but it's a bit on the wobbly side. You'll need to tighten down all the knobs very well before bolting your $1000 SLR to it. And then there's the assortment of other stuff: Vivitar UV lenses (decent), remote control (average quality; range is barely 5 feet), lens cleaning kit, etc. I haven't used most of these other items so it wouldn't be fair to comment. Still, they're basically free, so it's a win-win. Also should mention 32 gig Transcend SD card. Roughly a $20-30 value for free. Again, most of these bundled items are things you'd need anyway and you're getting them for nothing.

Cameta Camera: A+. I was nervous about buying an expensive item through an Amazon storefront even though Cameta has a brick and mortar location in NY. I had heard of Cameta Camera years ago on eBay but didn't know much about them. I did plenty of research and found that they had generally good reviews. I could have gotten the same deal on Cameta's website but opted to go through Amazon for whatever level of added protection it may provide. My experience was excellent. I ordered my camera bundle on a Friday afternoon and received it the following Tuesday (that's New York to Kansas in roughly 3 shipping days). I was thrilled with the delivery time. Also, I received an email the same day I ordered indicating that the bundle had already shipped. Other than that, there was no communication (this is a pro; I don't need anyone calling/emailing asking me to upgrade/add shipping insurance/etc). The entire package was well protected with plenty of air-filled packing material. Shipping and handling: free. And no taxes either. The asking price is what I paid. Overall a very good experience.

I have nothing but good things to say about the Canon T4i and Cameta Camera. If you're shopping for a bundled lens deal, you can't beat this one. Highly recommended.

SanDisk MicroSDHC Memory Adapter SDSDQU 032G AFFP A

Bought this card to use with my Samsung Galaxy Tab2 7in tablet, based on others who have reported getting it to work in their Galaxy Tab 2.

Bottom line, you gotta reformat this card as FAT32 with 32kb sectors to work in the Galaxy Tab 2, and that requires jumping thru some hoops as Win6/Vista does not even offer the choice to format as FAT32, only as NTFS or exFAT, neither of which will work with the Galaxy Tab 2 (Android v4.04) You have to use 3rd party software to accomplish this. A FREE solution is the EaseUS Partition Master free software you can download from cnet or direct from EaseUS. I had a commercial package already installed (Acronis DiskDirector) that I used.

Once fomatted as FAT32 with 32kb sectors, the card is recognized AND all the space is seen and useable.

Highly recommended if you need the space. I would assume that this would also make LARGER microSDXC cards work as well

SNEAKER TREAD BLACK RUBBER iPHONE

SD specs state that class 10 cards must guarantee 10MB/sec transfer speeds in various conditions, so it should exceed this out of the box under ideal conditions. This product's advertised speeds are "up to 20MB/sec" (which usually means reads).

Under diglloydTools DiskTester on my MBP, which can usually come pretty close to capping various flash device speeds:

Using test size of 2GB, 4MB at a time at start (0%), within a 30.2GB test file.

Iteration 1: writing...15.2MB/sec, reading...19.6MB/sec
Iteration 2: writing...15.6MB/sec, reading...19.7MB/sec
Iteration 3: writing...15.6MB/sec, reading...19.7MB/sec
Iteration 4: writing...15.7MB/sec, reading...19.7MB/sec
Iteration 5: writing...15.7MB/sec, reading...19.7MB/sec

So under good conditions (out of the box, large file transfer), I'm able to hit their advertised speeds, and both reads/writes are well above what is required for the spec. This agrees with several other reviews that the card is fast, with some numbers to back it up.

Wonderful

statement ring review Original Carry Speed FS Pro Camera

Original Carry Speed FS Pro Camera

I must say, this is in my humble opinion, as a l o n g time photographer, an almost perfect strap. Carry Speed has improved on the 1st version of this item, and now has created a product that is probably unequaled in the marketplace. Be sure to go to their website and view a couple of videos to get a really good explanation of how their straps work.

I bought this one for both a full size DSLR and a large superzoom SLR. It is great for either, and the more weight you are carrying the better is works. The very wide and stretchy strap, with ventilation (haven't needed that yet) is brilliant. It does not move on your shoulder, even when picking up the camera with one hand and swinging it into position for shooting. The stretchiness makes it very comfortable, and it disperses the weight of your gear very well.

Now, the laws of physics can't be changed, so the fact that you are carrying a certain amount of weight is a given, but at least you can be comfortable when doing it. It reminds me of the strap systems made for binoculars- quick to bring up, and easy to let go of, with no fear of dropping your expensive equipment.

The way it attaches, and swivels is a wonderful design, and works very well. It is tested to way beyond any amount of weight you may carry, unless maybe you are special forces and use it for a very large item. Seriously tho, the entire system works well, and I can't imagine using anything else. I know there are other straps of this type, but I find this one sell suited for my use.

Great case; perfect for travel.

ring DuraNeoprene FlexArmor Sleeve Digital Cameras

DuraNeoprene FlexArmor Sleeve Digital Cameras

This product fits my Nikon D5100 body with 55mm lens attached perfectly; due to its stretchable material, it fits quite snug holding the camera in place and protects it well from bumps or potential scratches. This is the perfect case (more like a sleeve) that you would keep on the camera while wearing it around your neck. This is the one you want to have when you are walking around a park, a museum, theme park, or anywhere that you would want to take immediate pictures. Just unsnap the 2 buttons on the bottom, and pull off the case/sleeve; now you're ready to take pictures in a matter of a few seconds. Just shove it in your pocket or loop it on your belt. Please note that this is not a storage or travel case for your camera as cannot carry any other accessory. I also found out that it will not accomodate the larger telephoto or zoom lenses. I tried it with my 55-300mm lens and clearly would not fit, which is fine since walking around with that huge lens would be cumbersome anyway. It's designed for the camera body with a 55mm or 75mm lens and smaller. Every time we go somewhere, we will bring this great sleeve/case for walking around. I highly recommend it and at the price you offer, it's a no-brainer!

bike trailer review Rogue FlashBenders ROGUEFLAG Bounce Card

Rogue FlashBenders ROGUEFLAG Bounce Card

I've tried quite a few similar products now and I finally think I've found something that works well. The larger sizes would be nice to get even better light but I'm glad I went with the bounce, it's the largest size I can easily stuff in a small bag without folding and that doesn't look too ridiculous hanging off your flash in public. It's fairly sturdy but can bend slightly under it's own weight so I have a bit of doubt that the larger sizes would do any better.

As mentioned in other reviews, you have to do a little fine-tuning so it's not always perfect for shots you only have one chance at taking and where you don't have time to tweak it to a specific shot. You can do fairly well in just the basic bounce positions though. It's at least better than a fong or sto-fen for getting flash to a subject in a room with high ceilings where you can't just do a bounce straight off the ceiling.

Just keep in mind what you need it for though and how you'll be shooting. It's incredibly flexible but there are other "light-scoop" reflectors that might be better or cheaper if you don't see yourself taking advantage of the flexibility and different angles that this offers.

A Great Bag For Some, But Not For Everyone

Nail Polish review Case Logic FLXM 102 Reflexion Anthracite

Case Logic FLXM 102 Reflexion Anthracite

Note:
This bag has broader uses than it is ostensibly designed for.

Like most air travelers, I do not feel secure with packing my electronic gear in a piece of checked luggage. Over the years, the things I generally bring along on trips and vacations has grown a bit as have the number of their accessories. Proportionately, the need for a larger and larger was to carry them on a plane with has grown to the point where I have been using a rather substantial back-pack to perform this function. That backpack held everything but not in a cleanly packed way and was difficult for me, as a 66 year old fellow, to put on and off. I didn't think much about alternatives until trying this Medium Cross Body Bag from Case Logic.

This case is firmly and well insulated and carries, most easily, as a shoulder bag (though it also sports a top-handle briefcase-style handle. The main compartment is designed to contain a separate DLS pouch that contains the camera as well as two extended lenses. The camera pouch takes up about of the main compartment. This leaves plenty of room for a camcorder, a smaller digital camera and even a pair of binoculars. There is an open slot/pouch within the main compartment that comfortably holds an iPad (or any other tablet up to 12" wide.)

The outside of the bag has three additional zippered compartments, one with three inner pouches of its own, allowing for plenty of space for cables, batteries, chargers and other accessories. There are also two external mesh side pockets for quick access small needs (lens cleaner, cell phone, commonly used filters, etc.) For a case of its size, it's thoughtful design accommodates a great deal of equipment that its simple external appearance would suggest.

To my delight, it takes up about half the space in the overhead than the backpack did, is far easier to carry around and provides firmer protection for my valuable gear.

At times, I travel with a non-DSL digital camera. This one fits in its own case within this Case Logic Cross Body Bag and creates the space for even more things - a second iPad, a small Bluetooth speaker for the iPhone/iPad, a small folding tri-pod and a second set of binoculars. Just because a case is designed for one specific set of purposes, its use is not contained by the intent or by the advertising.

Solidly built of first class materials (no loose threads or imperfect seams to be found) and with what feels like just the right amount of insulation and protective cushioning, this Case Logic bag really does the trick for me. It is NOT inexpensive - but, as most of us have come to realize, there are times when we actually do get what we pay for. I recommend it to anyone with needs similar to my own.

Kodak Wins

Kodak DC3400 Digital Camera Optical

I'm just an amateur when it comes to photography. All I really want is an easy-to-use point-and-shoot camera that I can take on vacations to snap shots of places I find interesting, to use around the house to take photos of valuables for insurance purposes, etc. In other words, my expectations are pretty minimal.

That said, I'm extremely happy with the Kodak DC3400. This is my second Kodak digital (my first was a DC240), so obviously I'm pleased with the Kodak product line.

After unpacking the DC3400, I spent about 10 minutes getting it set up, and proceeded to take a few pictures. Another 10 minutes or so, and I had the photo software loaded on my laptop. Connect the USB cable, and I was able to load the photos onto the laptop immediately. The camera shows up as an icon, like a disk drive, which you can double-click to open and transfer the pictures to a folder on your hard drive -- piece of cake!

The quality of the pictures is amazing. I use the Ofoto service, and had some prints of some of my digital photos sent to my mother. According to her, you could not tell the difference between the digital images and those taken with a 35mm film camera. The colors were vivid, the images sharp -- just what you'd expect from the Kodak name.

I'll agree with most everyone else and say that batteries might be the only downside to this camera. It's definitely worth the investment to get the Kodak NiMh rechargables and the charger. The ONLY time I use NiCads is when I'm my NiMh set is in the recharger, and I need to snap a few pictures.

For the money, I don't think you can top this camera in terms of features, quality, and ease of use.

Antiviral is an interesting abject horror film on several levels. I loved it. The story, the dialogue, the acting (for the most part) and the use of a limited color pallet all combined for an engaging horror flick.

While some have pointed out a perceived indictment on the "thrall of celebrity", the moral dilemma here is not only media or fandom gone amok - it is the separation of the subjective emotions of the fans from the abject, Hannah Geist. Geist in German, as many know, can be loosely translated to mean ghost or spirit.

Geist fandom in this starkly painted world is driven by the desire to connect with the abject (that which is cut off) by experiencing their illnesses, their infections or partake of their body in the form of cell-farmed 'steaks'.

How that spirit is experienced, replicated, stolen, subject to copyright is at the center of the Antiviral thesis. When Syd, a celebrity-virus salesclerk becomes infected with Hannah Geist's latest and life-threatening disease, he must put pieces together to save her and himself.

The easy share feature is fantastic. Just tag the photo and when uploading, the photos will automatically be sent to social media apps while also being uploaded to the computer photo program. This camera is perfect for young people just starting out with photography, as well as experienced photographers who like to have a camera with them but not schlep around the equipment. Maddie Things Serious Project Physics

OMG...What an AMAZING debut novel. E.L. Montes knocked it out of the park on this one. This was a love story but not your typical hearts and flowers type love story. This book kind of reminded me of Bared to You in the sense of the Hero and Heroine were very dysfunctional and flawed. This was definitely a roller coaster of emotions. Marcus and Mia's relationship reminded me of Eva and Gideon in the respect that they probably shouldn't be together but for some reason they just work well together. I do feel that Marcus and Mia's relationship was rushed a little in the beginning, it wasn't insta-love but it did happen over a very short period of time. I truly loved the suspense element to this story. Ms. Montes kept me guessing until close to the end. I had a feeling about it and was partially right. The suspense made me want to keep turning the pages, I just had to see what Marcus was hiding and how things would turn out. I was happy with the ending knowing that there will be another book to follow. I would say that this book is a HFN (happy for now) ending, with not really a cliffhanger but an epilogue that segues into the next book. You could definitely read this book without driving yourself insane waiting for the next one. With that said I am anxiously awaiting the next book, I can't wait to see where she takes Marcus and Mia. They have a long road ahead of them. This is a MUST READ!!!!! One for my favs shelf:)
